The Hawaiian Chieftain accompanies her on her voyages and goodwill missions. Both ships will welcome the public during their visit to Blaine Harbor. Both ships and crews provide educational, vocational, recreational, and ambassadorial activities and experiences that promote and preserve the maritime history of the Pacific Northwest.

Bird Watching
- Blaine and the Birch Bay area are an Important Birding Area (IBA) of Washington State, and is the Northern Anchor of the Great Washington State Birding Trail/Cascade Loop. The protected embankments of the area extending from Birch Bay on the south to Semiahmoo Bay on the north is an integral part of the premier loop of the Great Washington State Birding Trail. The number of birds and species that use these inland waters can be spectacular and even incomprehensible throughout the winter, peaking in the early spring, just before migration.
